A source from a Brazilian producer told SteelOrbis that the reference price for the export of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) is currently $950/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference. The reference price is the same over two weeks.
In October, CSN exported 13,000 mt of HDG at $1,019/mt, ArcelorMittal exported 8,700 mt at $752/mt, and Usiminas exported 6,900 mt at $916/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in August. Small tonnages were exported by independent galvanizing plants. The main destinations were South American countries (16,000 mt) and the US (12,700 mt).
