The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports is currently $920/mt, against $890/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference.

In February, Brazil exported 4,200 mt of HDG while importing 14,700 mt of the product, comparable respectively to 5,800 mt and 41,700 mt in January. Preliminary figures from customs are pointing to an increase in March from the volume of HDG exported from Brazil in February.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, medium to large volumes to end users or distributors, at BRL 5,935/mt ($1,050/mt), against BRL 5,768/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included. The increase reflects chiefly higher international prices of the product.
