Brazilian producers are exporting Galvalume in a price range of $865/mt to $905/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The price is on average $45/mt higher than the range seen two weeks ago, the source said, adding that the increase reflects both increased demand from the US and higher prices in international markets.

The high domestic price, estimated at BRL 4,640/mt ($1,478/mt) for sales by distributors to consumers, full taxes except IPI, is also playing a role on the increased export prices.

In August, Brazil exported 19,700 mt of Galvalume, all shipped by CSN and destined to the US (12,100 mt at $959/mt) and to Argentina (7,600 mt at $845/mt), both FOB with price deals probably closed in June.
