A source from a Brazilian producer told SteelOrbis that Galvalume exports to destinations other than the US are currently negotiated at $1,000/mt, FOB conditions, stable from two weeks ago.

He added that few such deals were closed over the last two weeks, reflecting not only a seasonal pattern for the end of the year, but also the focus of the local Galvalume producers, CSN and ArcelorMittal, in serving the domestic market.

The reference price for Galvalume in the Brazilian domestic market remains at BRL 6,030/mt ($1,602/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference and sales by distributors in small volumes, stable in BRL over the last two weeks. Larger volumes or sales made directly by the producers are usually entitled to substantial reduction of prices.

USD = BRL 3.76 (January 3)
