In the Portuguese flat steel market, demand is still weak and some decreases have been seen in import offers and in domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices, as expected. However, hot rolled sheet (HRS) prices have remained unchanged in the Portuguese domestic market.

Accordingly, HRS prices in the Portuguese domestic market are still standing at €590-600/mt ($726-738/mt) ex-warehouse, while an Italian mill's offers to Portugal for July production hot rolled coils (HRC) are at €515-520/mt ($634-640/mt) CFR - down €15/mt ($19/mt) week on week, while another Italy-based producer is offering June production HRC to Portugal at €530-540/mt ($652-664/mt) CFR.

In the meantime, hot dip galvanized (HDG) steel base prices of local producer Lusosider are at €600-605/mt ($738-744/mt) ex-works, after a week-on-week drop of €10-15/mt ($12-19/mt), while Italian HDG offers to Portugal are at the base price level of €580-585/mt ($713-720/mt) CFR.
