SteelOrbis has learned that demand has remained slack in the Portuguese flat steel market, while prices have not changed since last week. Some purchases by buyers who have extremely low inventories have only managed to create a slight revival in activity in the local Portuguese flat steel market where overall activity is very quiet.

In the Portuguese flat steel market, prices of July output hot rolled sheet (HRS) are still standing at €590-600/mt ($743-756/mt) ex-warehouse, while local producer Lusosider's domestic offers for July rolling hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil are at the level of €590-595/mt ($743-750/mt) ex-works.

In the meantime, in Italy's July production flat steel offers to Portuguese, hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are at the base price level of €515-520/mt ($649-655/mt), cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at €590-595/mt ($743-750/mt), and HDG prices are at €575-580/mt ($725-731/mt) base price level.
