CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated in average of $710/mt, CFR conditions, stable over the last six weeks, according to sources.
In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,300/mt ($1,094/mt), also stable in BRL over the last six weeks, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
In January, Brazil exported 2,800 mt and imported 31,100 mt of CRC against 7,300 mt and 8,700 mt in December.
The rising volume of imports reflects importers taking advantage of a more favorable exchange rate to clear customs.
The exports in January were all destined to South American countries, shipped by Usiminas (2,100 mt at $734/mt) and ArcelorMittal (700 mt at $1,097/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports were from Asia (30,100 mt, of which 28,900 mt at $578/mt from China) and Europe (1,000 mt at $866/mt), also FOB conditions.
