Chinese domestic PPGI market moves on a stable trend

During the week ending November 3, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have moved on a stable trend. Transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.

During the given week, major Chinese steelmakers have kept their PPGI ex-works prices stable for November delivery, providing support for the stability of PPGI prices in the spot market. Approaching the winter season, demand from downstream users is slacker, in particular due to production cuts on the downstream side because of environmental measures, especially in northern China. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
