During the week ending September 28, the Chinese domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) market has moved on an upward trend, while transaction activity in the overall market has been better than in the previous week and is now at low-to-medium levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, rebounds in ferrous metal futures prices in China have exerted a positive impact on CRC prices in the domestic spot market. Meanwhile, inventory levels have been relatively low, resulting in better demand in the spot market. Approaching the National Day Holiday (October 1-7), more purchases are expected to be concluded. It is thought that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move on a stable trend during the holiday and will move up after the holiday.
