A market source in Brazil told SteelOrbis that the reference price for the export of Galvalume remains at $850/mt, FOB conditions for the AZ-150 product, the same over the last week. Such price is roughly equivalent to $880/mt, CFR conditions for sales to Europe.

According to the source, a situation persists of very few export deals being closed for Galvalume, as the product remains scarce in Brazil, with imports consistently exceeding exports. In January, Brazil exported 7,750 mt of Galvalume, while importing 22,300 mt of the product.

From the imports, 7,500 mt were destined to Northern and Northeastern states; supplies from producers CSN and ArcelorMittal, located in the Southeast, are difficult to transport for long distances, usually by truck.

The last offer of Galvalume received by a Brazilian importer from China was priced at $790/mt, CFR conditions to a port in the South or Southeastern coast, also stable over the last weeks.
