A source from a producer in Brazil told SteelOrbis that the reference price for the export of Galvalume remains at $870/mt, FOB conditions for the AZ-150 grade product, stable from two weeks ago.

A scenario of low Galvalume exports remains, as producers CSN and ArcelorMittal have idled blast furnaces for renovations; production is destined chiefly to the domestic market.

The source mentioned that Galvalume exports in September seem to be exceeding the volume exported in August, 1,600 mt. The same seems to be happening with most flat steel products, the source added.

Between January and August, Brazil exported 25,700 mt of Galvalume, while imported 136,600 mt of the product.
