Zhujiang Steel Pipe to commission first phase of Zhuhai project

Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel pipe manufacturing company Zhujiang Steel Pipe Co. has announced that the first phase of its steel pipe production project in Zhuhai, Guangdong will be commissioned in the current month. A company official has disclosed that the first longitudinally-welded steel pipes have already been produced for testing.
 
The steel pipe project in Zhuhai consists of a total of three phases. The first phase, built with an investment of RMB 690 million ($109 million), has an annual output capacity of 150,000 mt.  Construction of phase two was initiated at the beginning of this year, with commissioning expected to take place before the end of H1 2012. The overall project will have seven production lines producing 500,000 mt of steel pipes per year. The annual output value is expected to reach RMB 5-6 billion ($791-950 million).
