According to preliminary results, in January 2011 the Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal's finished steel product output increased by 28 percent to 273,000 mt, while its crude steel production rose by 27 percent to 326,00 mt, both compared to January 2010.
In addition, in the first month of this year, Zaporizhstal saw a 16.3 percent year-on-year increase in its pig iron output to 257,000 mt and a 23 percent year-on-year rise in its agglomerate production to 464,000 mt.
