Zaporizhstal sees 2.4 percent growth in January-July crude steel output

In January-July this year, Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal's finished steel product output increased by 0.6 percent to 1.594 million mt, while its crude steel production rose by 2.4 percent to 1.94 million mt, both compared to January-July 2009. In addition, the plant saw a 1.4 percent year-on-year growth in its pig iron output to 1.604 million mt and a 0.6 percent year-on-year increase in its sinter production to 2.838 million mt.

In July, Zaporizhstal produced 232,000 mt of finished steel products, 296,000 mt of crude steel, 229,000 mt of pig iron, and 419,000 mt of sinter.
