Zaporizhstal post higher pig iron output, lower steel output for Jan

Ukraine’s Zaporizhstal, an integrated steel mill belonging to Metinvest group, has announced its production results for January this year.

According to the company’s official statement, in January 2020 Zaporizhstal produced 338,300 mt of crude steel, up 2.3 percent month on month but down 4.5 percent year on year. The pig iron output increased by 1.5 percent month on month and 8.1 percent year on year, totaling 399,900 mt in January. Finished steel production by Zaporizhstal decreased by 1.2 percent month on month and by almost seven percent year on year, amounting to 292,300 mt.
