Welspun secures orders worth Rupees 30 billion

India-based pipe manufacturer Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd has announced that it has secured pipe orders worth Rupees 30 billion ($698.3 million) from Indian and overseas companies.

Together with the new orders, Welspun's order book for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2008-09 (April 2008-June 2008) amounts to Rupees 77 billion ($1.79 billion).

The company, however, has not disclosed the names of the companies in its order book, but has said that majority of overseas orders come from diversified markets including the American continent.
