The Russian steel and pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced that the Association of American Railroads (AAR) has confirmed the compliance of railway wheels produced at its subsidiary Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa) with the requirements of AAR M-107/M-208 specification, which is one of the indispensable conditions for the supply of railway wheels in the world market.

Accordingly, Vyksa has developed the production of over 140 standard sizes of wheels for wagons, coaches and locomotives, including for North America. In recent years, OMK invested over $100 million in its wheel production. By 2015, OMK plans to triple its investments.
