The Italian company Olivotto Ferré has started construction work on a new production line at the heat treatment workshop of Volzhsky Pipe Plant, which is a subsidiary of one of Russia's biggest pipe makers, TMK.

The construction works are expected to be completed in October of the current year, while the commencement of production at the new line is scheduled for the end of 2007.

The new line will allow Volzhsky to increase its capacity for pipe heat treatment by 340,000 metric tons a year.

The installation of the new line is a part of TMK's strategic investment program for the period up to 2010.
