VIZ-Stal has received equipment for the construction of a steam reforming facility that will replace the more expensive electrolysis method used during the process of electrical steel production.

The new facility will be used to produce hydrogen by reforming natural gas. Once it is launched, power consumption will be reduced 37 times compared to the current method, saving 86 million kWh per year.

This RUR 1 billion project is being implemented as part of the company's large-scale technical upgrade program. The project will be completed in 2013.
