According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 52,716 mt in July 2023, down 18.3 percent from June and down 28.7 percent from July 2022 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $72.8 million in July 2023, compared to $85.5 million in June and $111.9 million in July 2022.
The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in July, with 10,613 mt, compared to 15,769 mt in June and 14,671 in July 2022. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in July include Turkey, with 10,213 mt; UAE, with 9,928 mt; South Korea, with 9,006 mt; and Thailand, with 8,397 mt.
