Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending August 27, the US rotary rig count increased by five to 508 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas remained level at 97, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by five to 410. The overall rig count is now up by 254 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by nine to 147 rigs in the week ending August 27. The Canadian rig count is now up by 93 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
