Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 4, the US rotary rig count decreased by one to 456 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 97, while the number of rigs drilling for oil remained level at 359. The overall rig count is now up by 172 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 15 to 77 rigs in the week ending June 4. The Canadian rig count is now up by 56 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
