Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 26, the US rotary rig count decreased by eight to 946 rigs following a four-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by five to 169, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by three to 776. The overall rig count is now down by 102 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by nine to 127 rigs in the week ending July 26, following a one-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 96 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
