US OCTG imports up 23.4 percent in January 2026 from December

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 92,934 mt in January this year, up 23.4 percent from December and down 60.5 percent year on year. By value, OCTG imports totaled $113.44 million in January, compared to $96.39 million in December and $295.52 million in the same month in 2025.

The US imported the most OCTG from South Korea in January with 31,492 mt, compared to 6,736 mt in December and 115,359 mt in January 2025. Other top sources of imported OCTG in January include Austria with 14,356 mt, Taiwan with 13,721 mt, and Canada with 12,372 mt.
