According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 231,826 mt in November 2017, down 23.9 percent from October but up 139.3 percent from November 2016 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $260.4 million in November 2017, compared to $308.6 million in the previous month and $87.1 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most OCTG from Korea in November, with 62,239 mt, compared to 95,661 mt in October and 46,548 mt in November 2016. Other top sources of imported OCTG in November include Mexico, with 40,978 mt; Austria, with 19,073 mt; Canada, with 16,063 mt; Brazil, with 14,062 mt; and Argentina, with 12,614 mt.
