US OCTG imports down 2.9 percent in November

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 153,028 mt in November 2018, down 2.9 percent from October and down 33.9 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $168.9 million in November 2018, compared to $176.7 million in the previous month and $260.4 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most OCTG from Russia in November, with 22,827 mt, compared to 28,893 mt in October. Other top sources of imported OCTG in November include Taiwan, with 20,940 mt; Mexico, with 20,519 mt; Austria, with 12,455 mt; Turkey, with 10,535 mt; and Argentina, with 10,398 mt.
