US line pipe imports up 97.8 percent in May 2025

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of line pipe totaled 79,614 mt in May this year, up 97.8 percent from April and up 0.1 percent year on year. By value, line pipe imports totaled $93.5 million in May this year, compared to $57.7 million in April and $96.0 million in May 2024.

The US imported the most line pipe from South Korea in May with 47,809 mt compared to 14,118 mt in April and 14,118 mt in May last year. Other top sources of imported line pipe in May include Ukraine with 7,977 mt, Brazil with 7,320 mt, India with 5,769 mt, Mexico with 4,371 mt, and Vietnam with 1,714 mt.
