US line pipe imports down 35.8 percent in January 2026 from December

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of line pipe totaled 27,447 mt in January this year, down 35.8 percent from December and down 65.2 percent year on year. By value, line pipe imports totaled $38.85 million in January this year, compared to $91.79 million in December and $106.43 million in January 2025.

The US imported the most line pipe from South Korea in January with 8,765 mt compared to 15,010 mt in December and 28,272 mt in January 2025. Other top sources of imported line pipe in January include the UK with 3,066 mt, India with 2,417 mt, and Romania with 2,168 mt.
