US line pipe exports surge 604.5 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of line pipe totaled 29,688 mt in June 2018, up 604.5 percent from May and up 546.1 percent from June 2017 levels. By value, line pipe exports totaled $40.4 million in June, compared to $9.7 million in the previous month and $9.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most line pipe to Malta in June with 18,276 mt, compared to zero tonnage in May and June 2017. Other destinations include Canada, with 8,488 mt; and Mexico, with 1,438 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US line pipe exports in June.
