US HRC imports decline 16.4 percent in November

According to census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of hot rolled sheets totaled 166,706 mt in November, down 16.4 percent from October and down 22.9 percent from November 2015 levels. By value, HRC imports totaled $90.0 million in November 2016, compared to $111.8 million in the previous month and $103.2 million in the same month last year.
 
The US imported the most HRC from Canada in November, with 66,552 mt, compared to 65,842 mt in October and 48,879 mt in November 2015. Other top sources of imported HRC in November include Korea, with 25,020 mt; Mexico, with 24,434 mt; Netherlands, with 16,074 mt; and Italy, with 10,156 mt.
