US HRC exports fall 12.2 percent in February

US exports of hot rolled sheet totaled 61,313 mt in February, down 12.2 percent from January but up 3.4 percent from February 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $44.0 million in February, compared to $48.5 million in the previous month and $40.7 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in February, with 36,619 mt, compared to 43,692 mt in January and 38,664 mt in February 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 23,295 mt; and Korea, with 1,042 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HRC exports in February.
