US hot rolled bar exports rise 16.7 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled bar totaled 42,876 mt in October, up 16.7 percent from September and up 13.9 percent from October 2016 levels. By value, hot rolled bar exports totaled $43.4 million in October, compared to $38.9 million in the previous month and $36.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most hot rolled bar to Mexico in October with 20,772 mt, compared to 15,495 mt in September and 19,455 mt in October 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 20,318 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export hot rolled bar in October.
