The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced affirmative final determinations in the antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of imports of collated steel staples from China.

The DOC determined that producers and/or exporters from China have sold collated steel staples at less than fair value in the United States at rates ranging from 96.15 percent to 122.55 percent.

In addition, the DOC determined that producers and/or exporters from China received countervailable subsidies at rates ranging from 12.32 percent to 192.64 percent.

In 2018, imports of collated steel staples from China were valued at an estimated $88.8 million. The petitioner is Kyocera Senco Industrial Tools, Inc. (Cincinnati).

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) is currently scheduled to make its final injury determinations on or about July 6. If the ITC makes affirmative final injury determinations, the DOC will issue AD and CVD orders. If the ITC makes negative final determinations of injury, the investigations will be terminated, and no orders will be issued.
