Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 6 the US rotary rig count decreased by four to 936 rigs following a five-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 187 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by two to 748. The overall rig count is now up by 412 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by four to 209 rigs in the week ending October 6, following a seven-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 44 rigs from the same week a year ago.
