Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 27, the US rotary rig count increased by eight to 1,021 rigs following a five-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by three to 195 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by five to 825. The overall rig count is now up by 151 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by eight to 85 rigs in the week ending April 27, following a nine-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now at the same level it was the same week a year ago.
