US and Canadian rig counts drop week-to-week

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending November 6 the US rig count decreased by four to 771, after a 12-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count increased by two to 199, whereas the oil rig count decreased by six to 572. The overall rig count is still down by 1,154 from 1,925 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by six in the week ending November 6 to 185, after a one-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 225 from 410 rigs during the same week a year ago.
