In January 2011, Ukrainian mill Donetsk Iron and Steel Works (DMZ) produced 42,000 mt of crude steel - down 14.3 percent, 39,000 mt of rolled steel products - down 20.4 percent, and 120,000 mt of pig iron - down 7.7 percent, all compared to the same period last year.
In 2010, DMZ increased its rolled steel products output by 12 percent year on year to 530,000 mt, kept its crude steel output at the levels of the previous year, i.e., 529,000 mt, but decreased its pig iron production by 5.7 percent year on year to 1.316 million mt.
