Meanwhile, in the first 10 days of April, Ukraine's average daily steel output saw a decrease due to scheduled preventive and capital repair of steelmaking units carried out by steel producers, as well as due to the decrease of steel demand and prices. The average daily crude steel output for the period in question decreased to 97,100 mt, the average daily pig iron output went down to 77,200 mt, while the average daily output figure for rolled steel products dropped to 83,700 mt.
According to the Metallurgprom data, in Ukraine 28 of the country's 36 blast furnaces, 18 of its 21 converters, 16 of its 30 open hearth furnaces, and seven of its 15 electric furnaces were operating as of April 12.
