Ukraine releases Jan 2007 pipe data

In January 2007, Ukraine registered a 30.5 percent increase in its pipe production year on year to 210,000 metric tons. During the period in question, the country also saw an increase in its pipe exports. Thus, during the first month of 2007 Ukraine exported 153,898 metric tons of pipes - up 58.9 percent compared to the same period of 2006. The main importers of Ukrainian pipes in January were Russia with 69,500 metric tons, Azerbaijan with 13,100 metric tons, Germany with about 10,000 metric tons, Kazakhstan with about 9,000 metric tons, and the USA which imported about 8,500 metric tons. Imports of pipe by Ukraine in January 2007 increased as well. Thus, during the period in question, Ukraine imported 5,040 metric tons of pipes – up 64.2 % compared to the January 2006 data. The main exporters of pipes to Ukraine were Russia, Austria and China.
