Ukraine limits steel wire imports from China

Chinese suppliers have received notification about a definitive measure within the framework of the antidumping investigation started by Ukraine regarding steel wire imports with 7229 20 00 00 customs code. The Chinese exporters have received an antidumping duty of 32.6 percent for the period of five years. The measure came into force from the date of publication, which was August 2, 2023.

In the course of the investigation, it was confirmed that the dumping margin for ex-China steel wire exports to Ukraine was at 32.6 percent. The volume of dumped imports increased by 56.14 percent in the absolute measurement, and by 91.35 percent according to the consumption levels of the similar product in the domestic market of Ukraine. The negative impact on domestic production was proven, according to the statement, in form of a decline in product manufacturing in Ukraine by 32.08 percent and in the decrease in local capacity utilization rates by 44.06 percent. The share of the domestic producer in the market shrunk by 33.91 percent, while its cost of production increased by 98.32 percent, the official statement said.
