Ukraine issues production results for Jan-Aug

In the first eight months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 4.5 percent decrease in its finished steel product output to 18.357 million mt, a 4.9 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 22.010 million mt and a 0.1 percent decline in its pig iron production to 19.083 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 0.55 percent year on year to 12.955 million mt.

In the January-August period this year, Ukraine produced 44.370 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 15.341 million mt of iron ore pellets - up 1.9 percent and 5.1 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In August alone, Ukraine produced 2.144 million mt of finished steel products - up 4.4 percent, 2.625 million mt of crude steel - up 2.8 percent, 2.278 million mt of pig iron - down 0.1 percent, and 1.573 million mt of metallurgical coke - down 0.75 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
