Turkish motor vehicle output up 31 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 120,293 units, rising by 22 percent year on year and down 2.3 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automative Manufacturers' Association (OSD).  In the January-April period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 334,705, up 31 percent year on year.

In the first four months of this year, passenger car output amounted to 265,569 units, up 15.35 percent, while commercial car output totaled 189,429 units, up 52.4 percent, both year on year. In April alone, passenger car output totaled 67,136 units, up 5.3 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 53,157 units, up 50.9 percent, both compared to April 2014.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 85 percent in April this year, while the rate was 80 percent in the first four months of the year.
