Turkey’s steel pipe exports decline 39.14 percent in September

According to the statistics released by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in September Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 94,590 metric tons, decreasing by 39.14 percent year on year and down 20.54 percent month on month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $88 million, down 57.73 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and down 31.54 percent over August this year.

In September, the average export price of Turkish steel pipe amounted to $930/mt, down $150/mt or 13.85 percent from August levels, and indicating a decrease of $409/mt or 30.55 percent from $1,339/mt in September 2008.

On the other hand, in the January-September period of the current year, Turkey's steel pipe exports slid 12.95 percent year on year to 1.16 million mt, totalling a value of $1.1 billion, down 27.38 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
