Turkey's steel export value up 32.1 percent in January-October

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in October this year Turkey's foreign trade deficit increased by 73.9 percent to $7.32 billion compared to October 2016. In the first ten months of this year, Turkey's foreign trade deficit rose by 32.1 percent year on year to $61.18 billion.

In October, Turkey's iron and steel exports ranked fifth among the country's products with the highest export value, totaling $677.16 million, increasing by 27.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given month the value of exports of articles of iron or steel, which ranked eight among the products with the highest export value, increased by 16.2 percent year on year, amounting to $506.35 million.

In the first ten months of this year, Turkey's iron and steel export value increased by 32.1 percent to $6.57 billion, while the value of its exports of articles of iron or steel rose by 11.2 percent to $4.55 billion, both year on year.
