In April this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 24,184 metric tons, up 132.27 percent year on year and increasing by 5.06 percent compared to March, while the value of these imports totaled $36.16 million, up 106.18 percent year on year and increasing by 22.45 percent month on month, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year Turkey's seamless pipe imports increased by 37.53 percent to 80,314 metric tons, while the value of these imports amounted to $113.35 million, up 24.81 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 52,479 metric tons, up 96.96 percent year on year. China was followed by Ukraine and Germany, with respectively 7,611 metric tons and 6,736 metric tons of seamless pipe exports to Turkey in the given period.
