In February this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 8,508 metric tons, down 40.33 percent year on year and decreasing by 65.39 percent compared to January, while the value of these imports totaled $16.67 million, down 37.29 percent year on year and decreasing by 46.20 percent month on month, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year Turkey's seamless pipe imports increased by 13.57 percent to 33,103 metric tons, while the value of these imports amounted to $47.56 million, down 2.75 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 21,987 metric tons, up 49.60 percent year on year. China was followed by Ukraine and Germany, with respectively 3,961 metric tons and 2,419 metric tons of seamless pipe exports to Turkey in the given period.
