According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 7,268 mt, decreasing by 32.5 percent compared to the previous month and up 7.3 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $6.44 million, down 26 percent month on month and rising by 23 percent compared to the same month of 2015.
Last year, Turkey’s PPGI exports decreased by 21 percent to 94,619 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $80.6 million, down 23.7 percent, both year on year.
Bulgaria was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in 2016, with imports of 14,266 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Bulgaria was followed by Libya and Romania, with Libya’s PPGI imports from Turkey amounting to 9,494 mt, while Romania received 8,091 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period.
