In August this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports decreased by 2.02 percent month on month to 2,521 mt, down by 48.7 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports decreased by 15.75 percent month on month to $2.78 million, down 34.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first eight months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 69 percent to 21,050 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $22.9 million, down 51.5 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Italy ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 4,762 metric tons, down 51.64 percent year on year. Italy was followed by China and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 3,785 metric tons and 3,728 metric tons respectively.
