Turkey’s PPGI exports up 39.2 percent in Jan-May

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 14,003 mt, up 17.4 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $14.07 million, rising 24 percent compared to the same month of 2017. 

During the January-May period, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 39.2 percent to 71,646 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $71.9 million, up 51.2 percent, both year on year.

The US was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the first five months of the current year, with imports of 10,311 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, the US was followed by Greece and Romania, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 10,130 mt and 7,737 mt respectively.
