In May this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports increased by 30 percent year on year to 3,435 mt, while the revenue from these imports rose by 40 percent year on year to $4.37 million, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports went up by 26.1 percent to 15,441 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $20.24 million, up 54.8 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Belgium ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 3,041 metric tons, up 22.82 percent year on year. Belgium was followed by Italy and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 2,962 metric tons and 2,185 metric tons respectively.
